Sanki

a) As if kullanarak birinin ya da bir şeyin nasıl göründüğünü (look) , hissettiğini (feel) , gibi geldiğini (sound) anlatabiliriz.

I feel as if I haven’t had a sleep. (Sanki hiç uyumamış gibi hissediyorum.) (ay fiil ez if ay hevın’t hed e silip.)

Her sounds as if she cries. (Sanki ağlamış gibi gözüküyor.) (hör saunds ez if şi kırays.)

The street looked as if nobody was living in the town. (Sokak sanki kasabada kimse yaşamıyor gibi görünüyor.) (dı sitrit lukd ez if nobadi vaz living in dı tavn.)

b) Cümleler it looks, it sounds, it smells as if (as though) gibi kullanabiliriz. (Yaygın kullanımda as if yerine “like” kelimesini duyar veya görürsünüz.It looks like, It smells like, It sounds like……)

There is no sound. It sounds as though they are sleeping. (Hiç ses yok. Sanki uyuyorlarmış gibi geliyor.) (der iz no saund. İt saunds ez doh dey ar siliping.)

It smells as though a rat has died here. (Sanki burada bir büyük fare(sıçan) ölmüş gibi kokuyor.) (it simels ez doh e ret hez dayd hiyır.)

c) As if ‘i bunların dışında diğer fiillerlede kullanabiliriz.

He looked at me as if I was crazy. (Bana sanki deliymişim gibi baktı.) (hi lukd et mi ez if ay vaz kıreyzi.)

I behaved as if nothing had happened. (Sanki hiçbirşey olmamış gibi davrandım.) (ay biheyvd ez if nating hed hepınd.)

d) Bazen As if den sonra geçmiş zaman kullanırız, fakat anlamları geçmiş zaman olmaz.Bu şekilde düşüncenin gerçek olmadığını ifade ederiz.
